A TV Time alternative that keeps your history
TV Time shut down on July 15, 2026. Upload your export to Cinekholm and your watched episodes arrive with their dates, the shows you follow with their alerts. Tracking is free.
After you sign up, upload your file with "bring your history" on the first screen, or later from Profile → Settings → Import.
Move in three steps
Find your file
Search your email for "TV Time". The data file you requested before the shutdown arrived as a ZIP.
Upload the ZIP as is
No need to unzip it; we work out which service it came from. If the ZIP is password protected, unzip it first and pick tracking-prod-records-v2.csv, tracking-prod-records.csv and followed_tv_show.csv together.
Sit back
Shows are added one by one in the background; large archives take a few minutes. You get a notification when it's done and can keep using the app meanwhile.
What comes over
- Every episode you watched, with the date you watched it. Rewatches merge into the same episode.
- The shows you follow. We keep telling you when new episodes air; archived shows stay quiet.
- The movies you watched, with their dates.
- Shows and movies you saved for later, into your watchlist.
Not imported: TV Time ratings and emoji reactions (the scales in the file don't match each other), comments and badges.
No file?
If you didn't download your data before TV Time shut down, there is no TV Time file to upload. If you moved your history elsewhere, bring it from there:
- Trakt · trakt.tv → Settings → Data → Export. Upload the ZIP as is; free accounts have it too.
- Letterboxd · letterboxd.com → Settings → Data → Export your data. Your diary, ratings and watchlist come over.
- IMDb · Export Your Ratings or Your Watchlist as CSV.
We only read your watch history
TV Time's data file also contains your password hash, session tokens and IP logs. We never touch them: only the watch-history files are opened from the ZIP, and the file you upload is not stored.
Questions
Is it free?
Tracking shows and movies, importing and new-episode alerts are free. Detailed stats and some extras come with an optional subscription.
My ZIP is password protected. What now?
The password usually came in a separate email. Unzip the file in your phone's Files app or on a computer, then upload tracking-prod-records-v2.csv, tracking-prod-records.csv and followed_tv_show.csv together.
I never downloaded my TV Time data. Is my history gone?
It can no longer be requested from TV Time. If you moved it to Trakt, Letterboxd or IMDb, export it from there and upload that. Otherwise add your shows by hand and mark where you left off.
How long does it take?
The upload takes seconds. Shows are added one by one in the background, so an archive with hundreds of shows can take a few minutes; you get a notification when it's done.
Some episodes look missing. Why?
TV Time stored episodes by TheTVDB numbering and we use TMDB. Specials numbered differently in the two, and some anime, can be missing; you can mark them on the show page.
Do I have to leave Trakt or Letterboxd?
No. After uploading you can use both; uploading the same file again won't duplicate anything.
